The Royal Exchange Manchester has Christmas shopping wrapped up

If you’re starting to feel frantic as the number of shopping days before Christmas begins to diminish, fear not; all your gifts (and more!) can be purchased from a single venue, at The Royal Exchange Manchester.  Meaning less time spent being driven crackers by Christmas shopping, and more time enjoying the season to be jolly.

With the perfect mix of premium high street and exclusive boutique shops, The Royal Exchange Manchester encompasses not only the much-loved Arcade, but also the incredible street stores that surround it.  And you can give a little festive cheer, because the fabulous variety of luxurious shops and cafes cater for everyone.

Market Street and St. Ann’s Square

Given that it is home to stores including Hotel Chocolat, Scribbler, Whittard of Chelsea and The Whisky Shop, the stretch of shops that lead from the bottom of Market Street and round into St. Ann’s Square should probably be christened ‘gift corner’.

Beauty gifts

You’ll also find an abundance of beauty gifts on the same stretch of externally fronted shops, from indulgent brands L’Occitane, Lush, Molton Brown, and The Body Shop.

Gifts for female fashionistas

From perfect party shoes to snuggly boots, and everything in between, you’ll find gifts that make bodies and feet look a treat in Irregular Choice, Moda in Pelle, French Connection, and The Designer Exchange.

Gifts for men

You’re spoilt for choice at The Royal Exchange Manchester when it comes to gifts for the man in your life.  Head to Lanigan and Hulme for premium menswear and accessories, Fjallraven for stylish and sustainable outdoor gear, and Yards Store for big name brands such as Carhartt, Patagonia, Paul Smith, Barbour, and Clarks Originals.  Tobacconist Astons of Manchester, located in the Arcade, has an incredible selection of gifts for men, and Watches of Switzerland sells premium luxury watches; perfect if you’re buying a special gift for a watch connoisseur.

Jewellery and watches

Jewellery is another thing The Royal Exchange has in abundance. Whatever your taste (or theirs), you’re guaranteed to find something that suits.  Jenny Jones Jewellery, a life-size jewellery box housed in the Arcade, specialises in beautiful vintage and bespoke jewellery, as well as contemporary designs. You’ll find wonderful watches and jewellery in the Swiss Watch Shop, Mays Jewellers is the place for timeless pieces of traditional jewellery, and Diamond Heaven is a haven for those seeking something extra special. And, on the corner of Market St and St Ann’s square, you’ll find Arthur Kays Jewellers, the longest standing shop in the building, selling traditional jewellery and watches.

Homeware, Christmas decorations, and stationery

Popping in to the popular Sostrene Grene is a must on any visit to The Royal Exchange.  This Danish store has an amazing selection of Christmas decorations, homewares, stationery, and craft supplies; at ridiculously affordable prizes. For gifts, cards, and wrap, Paper Kisses of Manchester in the Arcade caters for all tastes, and all occasions. And don’t forget Scribbler on Market St for their legendary fun, cheeky cards and gifts.

Fitness and wellness

Lululemon makes buying for yogis and gym bunnies uber-easy, stocking a sought-after range of activewear to suit yoga, running, and other sweaty pursuits.  Amaranth Wellbeing health and beauty shop offers an array of natural and organic products for beauty, health, wellbeing and nutrition. And The Remedy Kitchen serves up a delicious gluten, dairy, and refined sugar free menu in a relaxed environment; perfect for when you want to take a break from shopping.

Cafes, coffee-shops, and dining

Talking of taking a break, in addition to The Remedy Kitchen, The Royal Exchange has a choice of eating establishments to suit most dietary requirements.  Although only available for takeaway at the moment, plant-based eatery Vertigo serves up a great selection of sumptuous plant-based dishes, and the best coffee in town can be found at Michaels coffeehouse. When restrictions eventually lift, family-focused American style diner Fridays (formerly TGIs) offers tasty eats and delicious drinks, and afternoon tea at Annies is an absolute must.

So there you have it…all your gift inspiration in one place! Happy shopping!
